Species: Genetically altered human clone. When he transforms into his Crusnik form, he looks like an angelic looking being with a pair of six white feathered wings, resembling a seraph. Unlike the other 3 crusniks, his siblings, Cain is the only one who is injcted and infused with 100% nanomachines in his bloodstream
Weapon: He form a spear out of his own blood. Thought to be a reference to Spear of Longinus, also called the Spear of Destiny.
Physical appearance: In the anime, he has long blonde hair. In the manga, short blonde hair. Like his twin brother Abel, he has the same pair of winter blue eyes
Clothes: He wears a ceremonial looking white robe whenever he leads his order, with a cape. Other times, a white aristocratic gentleman suit when he's casually wanders and derps around in the outside world
Religion: He leads a group, Rosenkreuz Orden, that opposed the world, including their enemies the Vatican and the Methuselah Empire. Not so much a religious group, but rather a terrorist group using the knowledge of the occult to start a war. With his members of the order, his only main goal: "Igne natura, renovatur integra" ("through fire, nature is reborn whole"), to renew the world by destroying it.

In the world of Trinity Blood, the world of Earth has a problem of being overpopulated with humans. The Nations of the world can only think of the following solution: Created clones of human beings that can survive Mar's environment and send them there to create a colony s a secondary home.
Cain is a clone representing Germany in the year 2088. The eldest of the four siblings, besides Abel, Seth, and Lilith, he is the first clone to made for the purpose of being sent to Mars to save the world. Being the first, Abel was created shortly after him, in London, England, however his twin brother was created solely to be of spare parts, in organs for Cain, just in case, as an survival insurance.
The entire Mars project is his responsibility, as he carries the hopes and dreams of mankind, the knowledge of science, and the Nations of international interests to Mars on the ship with his crew. Made and bred to survive Mar's harsh environment, and being genetically altered, he and his siblings, and the other fellow colonizers were made to be superior in intelligence, endurance, and to be the leaders of the new human race.
Like his brother, Abel, Cain grew to resent and hate humankind, and for the abuse under the scientist, as they being clones, they were served as nothing more than being tools and Nations property. While serving the humans in the UNASF (United Nations Aerospace Force), Cain became Major and oversaw the completion of the Mars project, while his younger twin brother Abel becomes Lieutenant Colonel and eventually, Commander of the Ark.
However, Cain hide his resentment with a smile, and he didn't let his heart overcome with hated like Abel did. During his mission Mars, Cain is likeable and lovable by all, the most knowledge guy when it comes to scientific knowledge and research of the Mars project and was known to be a gentle man unlike Abel who becomes an embittered young man, who hated his situation as being a clone and labrat. He was well-loved by the colonists and his family alike, he was trusted as the leader of the entire colony as the supervisor and director of the entire project. Cain believed Mankind has a future and that the Mars project will succeed. As a clone himself, Cain outperforms Abel in every way from the intelligence test, to performing his duties, Cain is the pinnacle of man's science can achieve, while Lilith was created as the female version.
Similarly, he resented that Abel didn't view him as more important than Lilith. Cain didn't see Abel as spare organ parts, but as a family that he never have, as the four clones never have parents to begin with. He grew jealous of the time Abel and Lilith spent together, as he wished Abel to be more like him - a benevolent leader with a vision for the colonists and the Terrans. His love for Abel as a brother is never properly expressed, but the two became close, however Abel's relationship with Lilith made their brotherly love very estranged.
The Ark is an alien ship that Abel and Lilith found, after Lilith saved Abel's life after an attempted murder due to Abel's quarrel with his fellow crew, where he was tricked to be left outside on Mar's surface and was left to die via lack of oxygen. Inside the Ark, they found well-preserved alien bodies, and within the bodies, they found two strains - wo strains of virus which are actually nanoscopic machines - one is called Kudlak Bacillus and one called Crusnik. They didn't truly understand Crusnik nanomachines, but the Kudlak bacillus easily took to the colonists they injected with it, giving them a heightened strength, longer life and a host of other skills - these later became known as the Methuselah, or vampires where the DNA, once exposed to the sun's natural light becomes mutated and they developed a weakness where sunlight means certain death.
A tragic accident occurred to Cain during his mission there, that he unfortunately died. In desperation, Seth and Abel tried to revive him using the Crusnik machines that they found on the Ark, and they succeeded, and he was restored back to life. However, they injected 100% of the nanomachines into his body. As the result, the nanomachines took over his mind, and whatever is left of the original personality of Cain was destroyed. He became mentally unstable, insane even, and can no longer be reasoned with. ABel didn't catch that part of him early on, so when Cain suggested going to war with the humans, that part of Cain where he resented humanity appealed to Abel, so they both agreed to fight on the same side.
The wars between Nations over the Ark began, that the wars become on a world-wide Nuclear scale. When the Mars colonists returned to Earth, the sun mutated their DNA into vampires and they become the ancestors of the Methuselah Empire, and they went to war with the Terrans over control and supremacy over the planet. The war was so devastating that all life on the planet is almost near inhabitant and the population of the humans is almost coming close to extinct.
Cain at this point honestly believes the world has become corrupted and useless, and that he as a superior being has the power to do whatever he wanted. Everything on Earth Terrans, Methuselah is corrupted and must die. The world must be burned in order to be purified. The only thing he craves is the complete and utter destruction of the world. He proven this, by trying to gain control of the Ark to crash it into the world, but he was stopped by Lilith, Abel, and Seth.
The wars ended when Cain killed Lilith under a lie that he'll forged a peace truce to end all the fighting and the wars. He invited Lilith on the Ark, only to end up killing her, by beheading her and absorb her nanomachines. His murder is an effort to convince Abel to join his side to fight the Terrans once more, wiping them all out completely. At this point, when Abel found out, he began to truly see his madness and teaming up with Seth, they killed him by shoving him out of the airlock, and Cain was killed and fell into the Earth's atmosphere and burned into ashes. In turn during the battle with Lilith, Cain is very injured during the struggle, and he was weaker after taking 04 thereby reducing Cain in a reduced state he cannot regenerate until several hundred years after as his host body has low stamina to keep 01 and 04 together in his blood stream.
The war is over and peace is restored as Lilith always wanted. Abel, in his grief over Lilith and having killed his own brother, and also dealing with the guilt that he aided Cain as a contra mundi (enemy of the world), took Lilith's remains with him, and fled to Earth. He preserved her and himself in a tomb in the catacombs below the Vatican, and willed himself to sleep for 900 years...until he was awaken by Caterina.
When Abel woke up to live his second chance at life as a Catholic priest, he adopted his dead brother's personality in his memory as a gentle man with a smile for everyone, and being a klutz to hold back his true power and cover up his past self as a man being controlled by his own hatred. He perhaps subconsciously did so, to hide his past as his brother's keeper and murderer against humankind during the war by starting over, overcoming his guilt and mistakes.
In canon, it's stating that Abel's goal is to remove the nanomachines from his twin brother in a desperate attempt to restore him to how he was before. Whether or not this will actually work is rather up in the air, but going with the theory that it will in this case, Cain is irreparably broken. Putting aside the fact that he's been living with an alien lifeform dictating his life for centuries, Cain murdered countless millions of people during the Armgadeon wars as the Contra Mundi with no regret or remorse over his actions (while Abel became a priest to repent for his sin that he helped his brother in the past to achived that goal) - his own beloved sister, Lilith among them.
Abilities/Powers
In his Crusnik form, Six angel wings from his back, giving him a seraphim look. (In contrast to Abel's, Abel's wings are raven black).
His main weapon is the spear formed out of his own blood, using the power of the nanomachines
Using super sonic waves by manipulating the ions and atoms in the air to create a powerful blast of power toward the target and make their inner organs explode or destroy buildings or nearby targets using the power of his mind. Mindcrush, yeah?
Likewise a blast of red energy, that is probably a super sonic blast
Healing, regenerating ablities, although it's slower than normal due to the host body being fragile since the first death when Abel and Seth pushed him out of the airlock
